  Recently, the first series of units of the Inner Mongolia Baofeng Coal-Based Green Hydrogen and Coal Chemical Coupling Carbon Reduction Innovative Demonstration Project, designed by CNCEC-TCC, was successfully commissioned and put into production, marking the official start of the trial production phase of the project. Lu Ling, the company's vice president, attended the commissioning ceremony.

   This project, with an annual capacity of 3 million tons of olefins, is currently the largest coaltoolefin project in the world in terms of single-plant scale. It is also the only large-scale project globally that uses green hydrogen to replace fossil energy in olefin production. The project widely adopts multiple technologies with independent intellectual property rights from China, along with the most advanced modern coal chemical technologies in the world, setting several industry records. The project’s production capacity, process technology, equipment level, energy consumption and emissions, intelligent manufacturing, and benefit indicators all reach the leading level in the industry. It effectively promotes the high-end, low-carbon, and cluster development of coal-based new materials, significantly contributing to the improvement of the regional energy structure, the promotion of high-quality regional development, and the facilitation of industrial transformation and upgrading.

  As the general designer, CNCEC-TCC was responsible for the overall design and coordination of the entire plant, as well as the engineering design tasks for air separation, conversion, purification, methanol synthesis, and auxiliary systems. Notably, the project set new records for the largest single-series scales globally, including 6 domestic air separation units, 3 methanol synthesis units, and 3 isothermal conversion units. During the project design and commissioning process, the CNCEC-TCC project team made scientific plans and coordinated the entire process, leveraging their deep technical accumulation in coal chemical engineering and advanced on-site management advantages. The team carefully developed technical solutions, frequently visiting the site for inspections and proposing corrective actions to ensure the inherent safety of the units. Additionally, they emphasized coordination and optimization of the production process to improve overall operational efficiency, securing the project's technological leadership and laying a solid foundation for its successful commissioning.
