Recently, the sulfuric acid plant of the 800,000 t/a Sulfuric Acid Project in Kazakhstan was successfully commissioned, with sulfur burning operations completed and qualified products produced. The project is undertaken by CNCEC-TCC and awarded by CNCEC International. This milestone not only marks the project’s official entry into the large-scale trial operation phase for sulfuric acid production, but also demonstrates CNCEC’s leading capabilities in large-scale international project construction, full-process EPC management, safety management system development, and cross-disciplinary coordination.
Located in Zhanatas, Zhambyl Region, Kazakhstan, the project consists of an 800,000 t/a sulfuric acid unit. It adopts a domestically developed “3+1” double-conversion sulfur-burning process, achieving a total conversion rate of up to 99.9%. Once completed, the project will fill the gap in large-scale, high-standard sulfuric acid supply in Central Asia and play a significant role in strengthening the local chemical industry chain and driving industrial upgrading.
