Successful Test Run of Main Air Compressor for Air Separation Unit in Huayi Synthesis Gas POX Project

Recently, the linkage test run of the 29,500 kW main air compressor—the highest-power unit in the Huayi Synthesis Gas Project executed by CNCEC-TCC under an EPC contract—was successfully completed. This achievement marks a breakthrough in critical project milestones, signifying that the equipment commissioning has entered a new phase.

The test run spanned two days, during which multiple rounds of debugging resolved challenges such as vibration interlock trips and surge curve calibration, laying a solid foundation for the stable operation of the air separation unit. Prior to the test run, a multidisciplinary team led by equipment specialists conducted joint on-site inspections with piping, electrical, and instrumentation departments, achieving zero errors through lean management. The project team ensured pipeline sealing integrity and instrument accuracy met design requirements via pressure testing for leakage detection and signal calibration, providing comprehensive safeguards for the unit’s safe startup.

The successful completion of this milestone not only verified equipment performance and system integration capabilities but also accumulated valuable experience for subsequent interconnected commissioning of the air separation unit. The Shanghai Huayi POX Project Department will leverage this test run as a new starting point to fully support the owner in advancing commissioning activities. While ensuring smooth mechanical completion, the team will dedicate all efforts to follow-up tasks, aiming to deliver satisfactory outcomes for both the owner and the company.
