Recently, Guo Guihe, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of CNCEC-TCC, met with Karim Badawi, Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, in Cairo.

Guo Guihe introduced the overall situation of TCC and the phased achievements of the Egypt 600 KTA soda ash project, and expressed gratitude to the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources for its long-term support and assistance. He stated that as a "main force" in practicing the high-quality Belt and Road Initiative and a "pathfinder and leader" of CNCEC, TCC attaches great importance to the development of the Egyptian market. It will give full play to its technological and management advantages in chemical engineering, clean energy, and green and low-carbon fields, steadily advance project construction and localization, and strive to build the Egypt soda ash project into a demonstration project for China-Egypt energy and chemical cooperation, injecting new impetus into the economic and trade cooperation and industrial synergy between the two countries.

Karim Badawi welcomed Guo Guihe's visit and highly appreciated the professional capabilities and efficient execution demonstrated by TCC in the Egypt soda ash project. He stated that the Egyptian government attaches great importance to cooperation with CNCEC and TCC. The soda ash project is an important part of Egypt's petrochemical industry upgrading. He hopes that TCC will continue to accelerate the project implementation, further deepen communication and cooperation with the Ministry of Petroleum and Egyptian Petrochemical Holding Company and other relevant units, and steadily advance the project construction. The Egyptian side will continue to provide policy and resource support, and work together to promote higher-level cooperation between China and Egypt in chemical engineering, new energy, infrastructure and other fields, and jointly write a new chapter of mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Egypt.

It is reported that the Egypt soda ash project is undertaken by TCC as the general contractor and is a key project of Egypt's "Industrial Development Plan". As Egypt's first mega capacity soda ash project, it has attracted great attention from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. After commissioning, it will strongly promote the rapid development of Egypt's downstream soda ash industry. During the meeting, the two parties conducted in-depth exchanges on the construction progress, construction period optimization, and localization advancement of the Egypt soda ash project, and in-depth discussions on deepening cooperation in the energy and chemical field and promoting the alignment of the Belt and Road Initiative with Egypt's Vision 2030.

During this visit, Guo Guihe organized a symposium at the African Regional Headquarters (Egypt Branch), conducting research on four key tasks: branch construction, market operation, localization advancement, and compliance and risk control. He emphasized the need to focus on key industrial chains to coordinate business layout, improve the local supply chain collaboration mechanism, strictly implement compliance management and safety, environmental and occupational health requirements, and contribute to the high-quality development of the company. The Egypt Branch stated that it will take this research as an opportunity to effectively implement various requirements, continuously improve market development efficiency and project execution capabilities.
